Slacker Radio has released its new iPad app, with access to Slacker Radio Plus and Slacker Premium Radio.
The new Slacker Radio iPad app has been launched in a manner similar to Slacker iPhone app, only resized for the iPad screen. It gives you access to all three parts of the Slacker Radio service ... Slacker Basic Radio service, ad-free Slacker Radio Plus, and Slacker Premium Radio. The iPad app is free (and comes with the free Slacker Basic Radio), but subscriptions for Slacker Radio Plus are $3.99/month and Slacker Premium Radio is $9.99/month.
Slacker Radio has set big goals for its iPad app, boasting that it's no small service: “The new free Slacker iPad app was built to be the ultimate music discovery tool, offering music lovers an intuitive, engaging way to experience Slacker Radio,” said Jonathan Sasse, senior vice president of marketing at Slacker. That sounds like big shoes to fill.
To quickly go over some of the cool features on the iPad app: a music library with over 8 million songs, the ability to create custom stations, multitasking support, no monthly listening limits (a shot across the bow of Spotify), and the usual glut of features that you can find on most streaming music services. These include artist biographies, album art and reviews, song ratings and stereo playback. So far, Slacker Radio is only available to U.S. and Canadian customers.
