Nirvana's classic album Nevermind will be reissued for its 20th anniversary this Fall, with 4 audio CDs and one DVD that includes previously unreleased recordings, rarities, b-sides, BBC radio appearances, alternative mixes of songs, rare live recordings and a full concert DVD that features a previously unreleased concert in its entirety. The news came via SPIN.
The Nevermind release is being billed as a "Deluxe Reissue," for the 20th anniversary of the release on Sept 24. Where were you when Nevermind was released? The album quickly rose to number one on the Billboard chart and knocked Michael Jackson out of the number one slot. It has since gone on to sell over 30 million copies.
"The cultural shift Nirvana’s Nevermind initiated was felt instantly on release -- and the profundity and depth of that shift becomes even more apparent when seen through the prism of the two decades of art and music created in its wake," reads the announcement on the Nirvana web site.
The Nevermind reissue will happen on Sept. 19 in Europe and Sept. 20 in North America.
