Portishead have announced a number of U.S. and North American shows for October. They're curating the All Tomorrow's Parties festival in the U.K. as well as the Saturday show at the New Jersey All Tomorrow's Parties here in the U.S.
“We’ve always thought that we must come back to tour in the states, something we wanted to do with the release of Third, but our schedule just wouldn’t allow it. Being that we were asked to curate I’ll be your Mirror, this just seemed like a good start to touring the states – it set’s it off in absolutely the right way. We are absolutely delighted to come back,” said Adrian Utley.
2011 is a year in which Portishead is spending time in the studio to work on their fourth studio album and the follow up to the aptly titled "Third."
"We tend to disappear into a studio for a long long time and sometimes it can get pretty dark which in a way is a part of the creative process, it's part of what makes us make the music we do, the kind of world we create around us. This is making it different, we'll be playing live shows around it that might have a good influence on it, I'm hoping that it does, I'm quite excited about the whole thing."
