|The Austin City Limits Festival has announced its 2011 schedule, with some classic lineup battles: conflicting set times on Kanye vs. Coldplay, Kurt Vile vs. James Blake vs. Smith Westerns, TV On the Radio vs. Chromeo, and my personal favorite: Arcade Fire vs. no one. I guess the Austin City Limits planners know how to schedule. You can book an itinerary and then share it with your ACL peeps via Facebook, Twitter or email (if you're still into that sort of thing). Check out the festival guide for a complete Austin City Limits Lineup.
As for Austin City Limits tickets ... Three-day passes and single day passes are sold out for Friday and Saturday, although Sunday passes are still available for $90*, with the asterisk meaning that ACL might change (read: raise) the price based on availability. VIP tickets are sold out. Sunday tickets are your only way in!
This will be the tenth anniversary of the Austin City Limits Music Festival, so it looks like some big events will be planned to honor the decade. Stevie Wonder, Arcade Fire, Coldplay and Kanye West are headliners, other big names include Fleet Foxes, Death From Above 1979, Bright Eyes, Iron & Wine, The Walkmen and TV on the Radio.
The dates for the Austin City Limits Music Festival are Sept. 16-18, 2011, in Zilker Park in Austin, TX.
The ACL Scratch-off Lottery was used to reveal parts of the ACL lineup this year, with acts like Fleet Foxes, Chromeo, Cee-Lo Green, Delta Spirit and more being revealed. Officially known as the "ACL Lineup Lottery," Austin City Limits organizers decided to do the scratch-off lottery as a fun way to reveal the ACL lineup and create a buzz around the lineup announcement. The Austin City Limits Twitter page has also been announcing locations in Austin to buy the scratch-off tickets, and Arcade Fire was confirmed as a headliner from a ticket at the Do512 Lounge. Radiohead and Soundgarden were also rumored before the lineup announcement.
