There's a new project coming from Karen O of Yeah Yeah Yeahs ... in the form of a psycho-opera that will will premiere in Brooklyn at St. Ann’s Warehouse in October. It's produced by The Creators Project’s and their newly-formed The Studio.
"Original Studio works will include the world premiere of Karen O‘s psycho-opera, an assault on the tragic joys of youth, directed by Adam Rapp. The premiere will take place at the critically acclaimed, St. Ann’s Warehouse," reads the announcement from The Creators Project.
Karen O has also recently worked with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross on part of the film score for the U.S. remake of the movie The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo ... they're covering Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song."
The Creators project is known for their addition to this year's Coachella festival, in which they did a number of sound & installation art elements for the festival, including the now legendary baloon drop during the end of the Arcade Fire set. The Creators Project is also worked with Jason Pierce from Spiritualized and director Jonathan Glazer on a project they called Untitled: A Physical Manifestation Of 'Ladies And Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space' and a piece called Life On Mars Revisited, which includes director Barney Clay visually remixing photographs from Mick Rock of David Bowie.
