Jonsi is no stranger to film scores ... he's worked on music that made its way to The Life Aquatic, How to Train Your Dragon and 127 Hours, and even worked with Cameron Crowe before when Sigur Ros classics “Svefn-G-Englar,” “Agaetis Byrjun” and “The Nothing Song” were used in the film Vanilla Sky. Actually, Sigur Ros music has been all over TV and film scores. Now Jonsi is working with Cameron Crowe to score his upcoming film We Bought A Zoo. The film includes co-stars Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson.

Cameron Crowe sounds like a gushing fan, telling The Playlist “Sigur Rós is one of the great bands to know this simple fact — the best music creates a movie in your mind. Making Vanilla Sky, we played Sigur Rós constantly. It inspired us and gave us grooves that became part of the DNA of our own movie. But that’s just us. Play Sigur Rós yourself. In every sound and song, they will reach deep into your soul. Sigur Ros is some of the best filmmaking you’ll ever hear.” Props.

Other music on tap for We Bought a Zoo? The Playlist reports that Neil Young and Eddie Vedder are in, and Cat Stevens might even make the final cut.
