Stephen Malkmus and The Jicks appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night, playing the songs “Senator” and "Surreal Teenagers." They released a new album on Aug. 23 titled Mirror Traffic, it's the follow-up to the 2008 album Real Emotional Trash.

"Yeah, the new album is called Mirror Traffic. There was a lot of deliberation on the album title front, but in the end we went the cryptic route — for some reason Madonna in Love didn't swing it with the test market. For a long stretch it was gonna be called L.A. Guns, but with lawsuits flying left and right these days, I was talked off the ledge by cooler minds," jokes Stephen Malkmus when talking about the new album title.
