Dave Navarro wanted an eclectic lineup, Marc Geiger wanted Pixies and Nine Inch Nails, Perry Farrell and Dave Navarro wanted Souisxie and the Banshees, Perry Farrell wanted Ice-T. The Lollapalooza video talks about how the combination of heavy metal and rap was controversial at the time, and Nine Inch Nails was a largely unknown name who was breaking big.
