PJ Harvey Wins the Mercury Prize for 2nd Time for Let England Shake

PJ Harvey has won Britain's 2011 Mercury Music Prize for her album Let England Shake, winning the £20,000 cash prize. She beat out Adele, James Blake and others, but was the odds on favoritie to win. Check out a full list Mercury Prize Nominees below. PJ Harvey also won the Mercury Prize in 2001 for the album Stories From the City, Stories From the Sea. She is the first winner to have received the Mercury Prize more than once.

"It's really good to be here as when I last won 10 years ago on September 11 I was in DC watching the Pentagon burn from my hotel room," she told the audience.

The Mercury Music Prize is open to any albums released by British and irish artists between July 2010 and July 2011. They announced the winner at an award show in London.
