The new Battles single for ‘My Machines,’ with Gary Numan is due out next week, and they've chosen today to drop the new "My Machine" video. Not only does it feature an appearance from Gary Numan, who sang the vocals, but it also features a slightly challenged escalator rider who tumbles his way down the up escalator. Oh, the irony.
The "My Machines" single is part of their new album Gloss Drop, which was released earlier this year. It will be available on silver 12” vinyl and download and will feature an unreleased song titled "A.M. Gestalt," as well as the instrumental version of "My Machines."
"Working with Battles was an easy choice for me. They have a unique approach to making music and a clear idea of what they want. They are inventive, adventurous, unpredictable and I'm proud to be involved," said Gary Numan in a staid response to working with the band.
Gary Numan has a new album Dead Son Rising due out this Fall, a project that emerged from demos Numan had lying around. Check out a track from the album and find out more.
Battles released the album Gloss Drop on June 6/7 via Warp Records with appearances from none other than Gary Numan, Kazu Makino (Blonde Redhead), Yamantaka Eye (Boredoms) and Matias Aguayo.
