The new Turntable.FM iPad app and iPhone app has arrived, and is currently available in the iTunes App Store. This is the first foray onto the mobile platform for Turntable.FM, and it's also worth noting that the streaming music experience is now out of its invite only phase and fully open to the public.
The news was tipped earlier that a launch could happen as early as this week, and there was news that the Turntable.FM crew was working on an iOS app earlier this Summer via the Turntable.FM Twitter.
Hypebot is reporting that Turntable.FM has confirmed that they've received $7 million new fresh capital from "First Round Capital, Polaris, Lowercase Capital and Benchmark. In addition, a small group of angels participated including Lady Gaga manager Troy Carter, Facebook's Tim Kendall, Guy Oseary, Vivi Nevo" and others (who shall remain nameless). The news of the investment came about in July with news of Lady Gaga and Kanye West being in on the deal.
There also have been Turntable.FM rumors that it will be part of a Facebook Music launch set for this Fall.
