The big party for the iPhone 5 release date seems to be firming up on Tuesday, Oct. 4. The iCloud release date is likely to happen at the same time, so we could be looking at a big time iPhone 5 announcement from Apple.
"Sources close to the company say the demonstration — currently scheduled for Tuesday October 4, a date first reported by AllThingsD — will be held at Apple’s campus in Cupertino, California," writes John Paczkowski at AllThingsD.
So we're back once again with the October iPhone 5 release date. The rumors are that iPhone 5 features an eight-megapixel camera, an A5 processor from the the iPad 2, and will be a faster & slimmer mobile device. We could also see an iCloud iPhone from Apple, as an alternative phone that features less onboard flash memory for storage, so users can use iCloud features for cloud storage of music, media and documents.
This all is radically important to the Apple and iPhone crowd, as they've gone crazy this Summer over any news and iPhone 5 rumors that have come along. It's a highly engaged crowd, and as AllThingsD points out in another article, the iPhone boasts a whopping 89% retention rate, waaay ahead of the 2nd place HTC.
