The Battles video for "My Machines" was released back in September, and it featured a cameo appearance from Gary Numan, who worked with Battles on the song. The video fantastically featured a guy who was falling down the up escalator, and was done by The Creators Project. Gary Numan has a new album Dead Son Rising out this Fall, a project that emerged from previously made demos.
Now the Creators Project has released a bit about how they the made the Battles "My Machines" video. The Creators Project are also working on a new 'Psycho Opera' with Karen O as well as the bigger and more ambitious Creators Project Art and Technology Festival, which includes musical performances, UVA’s audio-visual sculpture stage for Coachella, and more.
Battles released the album Gloss Drop earlier this year, the first album that marks Battles transition to a three-piece band after Tyondai Braxton's departure. As a result, the remaining three members reworked the songs from Gloss Drop. The result is a new phase of Battles, meaning a new sound built on top of the old one. Check out the Battles tour dates for a whole series of North American shows. Check out the Battles video for "Ice Cream" with Matias Aguayo (slightly NSFW) for more music.
