The new Memoryhouse release The Slideshow Effect arrives on Feb 28, a new full-length album that will "broaden ambitions hinted at on their 2011 EP The Years" according to Sub Pop Records, who also says "it’s a stunner." They'll be throwing more information at us on a Memoryhouse tour and the release of the Slideshow Effect, but for now, here's what else they had to say:
"The title speaks to what hasn’t changed for Memoryhouse: their continuing interest in the synthesis of the aural and the visual. It refers to the photographic/cinematic technique of zooming and panning to animate still images, often used in documentary film making to give movement to archival photographs."
Check out the video for "Heirloom" above for a classic example of that aesthetic in video and moving images.
