Trent Reznor has offered up a free EP from the The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo movie soundtrack. The movie is due out at the end of 2011.

After a months of anticipation, we finally get to hear more music from The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo movie. This time its a free six song EP from The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo soundtrack. “For the last fourteen months Atticus and I have been hard at work on David Fincher’s “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo”. We laughed, we cried, we lost our minds and in the process made some of the most beautiful and disturbing music of our careers,” said Trent Reznor when talking about the experience. If you get in on the pre-order you’ll get can get The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo Deluxe Packakge, which includes Apple Lossless, FLAC or 320 kbps MP3; vinyl on six pieces of 180 gram vinyl. Plus you also get The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo soundtrack with a deluxe book package with metal cover, custom 8gb metal razor blade USB pendant (inspired by Lisbeth's razor blade necklace), USB drive with the full album and a poster.

Not long after we found out this Summer that Karen O and Tent Reznor were working on a version of Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" for the upcoming U.S. release of the movie The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo did a copy of the movie trailer hit the web. It eventually was taken down due to copyright issue, but now you can hear that in the The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo trailer above.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo movie is due out out at the end of 2011 and features Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara. The soundtrack will be string-heavy, as in orchestral strings and will be performance-based (which presumably means recorded live rather than separate multi tracks).
