Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have a good track record behind them with their work on The Social Network soundtrack and the Oscars. The official title of the category they're in for the 2012 Golden Globes is "Best Original Score," where they'll compete with Ludovic Bource (The Artist), Abel Korzeniowski (W.E.), Howard Shore (Hugo), John Williams (War Horse) in Golden Globes nominations.

This all happens just in time for the big The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo movie debut, which happens next week. It's likely to wind out the year as one of the big movie releases in 2011. Earlier this week, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo title sequence With "Immigrant Song" from Karen O. & Trent Reznor surfaced online as well.
On tap for 2012: new music from Nine Inch Nails. recently saying in an interview that "I plan on spending a good portion of this coming year (coming up) writing with that [Nine Inch Nails] in mind. And we'll see what happens with it."
