Rdio CEO Drew Larner on whether streaming music sites like his will replace music downloads: "Absolutely. That’s the goal: from ownership to access." He said this while speaking to The Globe and Mail in an interview, also saying that Netflix-style music subscription services are still a little ahead of their time, as people are still used to owning music to make it portable. But in a world of always having online access, ownership becomes irrelevant as long as you can play the music whenever you want. "It is our biggest challenge, and I’m not just talking us but all the services: making people understand why it’s worth paying 10 bucks a month. The tipping point has occurred for video. I think we will reach that tipping point with music, but it’s still early," he went on to say.
