Katy Goodman is set to release another album of her La Sera project with Sees the Light on Mar. 24 on Hardly Art records. The new La Sera sound is more rough around the edges, less dream pop and echoey than the first album La Sera. This is due in part to songwriting and the the fact that Sees the Light was recorded by Rob Barbato (Darker My Love, the Fall).
It's got the L.A. vibe: surf, sun and sand in the form of indie pop with a touch of distorted guitar to bring it to life. La Sera recording label Hardly Art says: "La Sera’s lyrics are smart but not heavy; phantasmal, like Daniel Johnston attending church every week of his teenage life, but with a bigger sophistication and a shiny, polished fidelity. Lead single “Please Be My Third Eye” buzzes with an intensity and beauty rarely heard outside the first three Vivian Girls albums."
