Sonic Youth guitarist Lee Ranaldo is releasing his album Between The Times & The Tides on Matador Records on Mar. 20. Guest appearances include Nels Cline, Alan Licht, John Medeski, bassist Irwin Menkin, SY drummer Steve Shelley, Jim O’Rourke and Bob Bert.  

"The album is equal parts smart, confident and loose in a manner that recalls some of our favorite rock’n’roll projects…yet sounds like a fantastic new band that was apparently being assembled right under our noses," writes Matablog.  You can also check him out on the Matador Records Intended Play sampler (only $2, even vinyl) as well as video of his performance last year in Portugal, where he played the song "Shouts.
