The latest Rhapsody download is for users of Android apps, specifically Android tablet users with the new Rhapsody Android app. This isn't just a resized Rhapsody Android app, this is the full-on, tablet experience. Android Central mentioned the beta a few weeks ago, and it appears the Rhapsody for Android is now out of beta and into full product launch mode. You can get it straight from Rhapsody as a direct download or from the Android Market under the Apps section. The Android tablet app runs on tablet screens 9” or more and use the Android Honeycomb (3.0) OS. It's also available at the Amazon Appstore for Android.
The Rhapsody app is meant to be a modern update to the vinyl or CD album experience, replacing the liner notes and album art with a digital experience that offers editorial content about the music you're listening to including videos, reviews and Rhapsody playlists. " ... it's a guided tour of millions of songs and a musical canvas for a myriad of experiences, from collaborating with friends to build a party playlist by passing the tablet around the room, to providing a soundtrack to a recipe or an e-book," said Brendan Benzing, chief product officer, Rhapsody.
