The Detroit Electronic Music Festival has announced its 2012 lineup, with headliners Public Enemy, Jeff Mills and Lil Louis; other acts in the lineup include Carl Craig, Derrick Carter, Ian Pooley, Kevin Saunderson, Major Lazer and Roni Size. Also called DEMF or Movement, the festival features electronic music in the the birthplace of techno ... Detroit. DEE-troit! Public Enemy is the Saturday night headliner and the big act at this year's Movement, and their show will likey include songs from their Revolverlution release. "A combination of new songs, live performances recorded around the world and several classics reworked by fans via the Internet, Revolverlution pulls rap music into the future, all while keeping its musical roots firmly intact," reads the DEMF website.
DEMF 2012 tickets are on sale now for $70 as an advance ticket price. This is a general admission ticket and is good for all three days. DEMF VIP tickets are going for $190 dollars as an advance ticket price. These appear to be DEMF early bird tickets and prices are likely to change as the date of show draws closer.
As for DEMF 2012 ... it's a 36 hour party spread across four stages with almost 100 artists performing in the location of Hart Plaza in downtown Detroit. This will be the 11th anniversary of the Detroit Electronic Music Festival. The DEMF 2012 dates are May 26 - 28.
