Since like, forever...it seems that our neighbors across the pond have always appreciated music with strong American roots, sometime even more than we U.S.A locals do. It's simple math, really. Just pick a generation and it is very, very easy to name British artists that are just dripping with the soulfulness of Stax and the blue, blue sound of Chess. The thing is, though, it is done quite well, the majority of the time. My personal theory is that these artists often have a real respect for those they are influenced by. The Jessie Rose Trip fits snuggly into this category of artists. This trio from Manchester is a force to be reckoned with, especially with the honey-dripping vocals of Jessie Rose. She is capable vocally of joining the Adele, Amy Winehouse niche, though she has a style all her own. Just don't forget this is a band, as the cohesiveness of the group as a whole drives this home. Per a recent signing to S-Curve/Universal, expect to see/hear this group soon....and honestly, how could genuine Soul with an Alternative edge not intrigue you even a little?
