When I received the music from If Not For Dreaming via email, it was like someone left a candy bar on my desk. Amity Wahl (Vocals,) Pasquale Russo (Guitars) and Jay Jerz (Drums) have a relaxed Indie sound that includes the light acoustic touch of The Ocean Blue or The Smiths, but with a sweet female vocal over the top. (By the way, I don't mean "sweet" like when people like something and they say "sweet," I mean that her vocal is quite lovely and what the musical accompaniments call for. I'm just saying...)
Check out the songs "Three Weeks" or "Joyous Rush" for an idea of what I mean. If I had to compare them to anyone in a literal sense , I'd go with The Sundays ... but that really wouldn't be totally accurate. Maybe if The Sundays were from Connecticut and more straight-forward in their approach. In any case, If Not For Dreaming is a winner. Now, if you'll excuse me I'm going to leave my desk. Feel free to leave me a candy bar while I'm away.
