Now that the Coachella Music Festival is set for 2012, complete with its new two week format, comes the news of what many of those bands will do in the one week in between the two Coachella dates. Coachella sideshows, of course. The newly announced lineup of Coachella sideshows portends a schedule of shows between the dates of Apr. 11 - Apr 23.
Some highlights include shows by Neon Indian, Manchester Orchestra, Band of Skulls, Bon Iver and Madness all on Tuesday Apr. 16; while Apr. 19 includes shows from Pulp, Wild Flag, Tune-Yards & St. Vincent, The Big Pink and Girls with Yuck. You thought you had it rough with choosing what bands to see at what stage inside the Coachella Festival ... now who do you go see in the area AROUND Coachella in the week in between? The Coachella 2012 lineup was announced back in the beginning of January, with names like Amon Tobin, Beirut, Flying Lotus, Jeff Mangum, Mazzy Star, Neon Indian; and Coachella headliners Radiohead, Dr. Dre and The Black Keys. The Coachella 2012 dates are April 13 - 15 AND April 20 - 22, announced in May of last year, marking the first year that the Coachella Festival has gone down over two weekends instead of one. The Coachella 2012 location the Empire Polo Fields in Indio, California. There’s always a Coachella webcast, and 2012 should be no different. Details on the Coachella live stream are not known yet. Last year the Coachella live stream and Coachella videos were run on the Spacelab Media Player, this year we’ll do the same with a Coachella Festival video channel.
