The new iTunes updates to iTunes 10.6, offerring 1080p HD video for movies and TV shows to experience in true HD video. The iTunes download is a big update for the actual experience ... new iPad HD people and iTunes account holders from any type of computer will see great quality HD video. This is available for movies an TV shows currently being bought through the iTunes Store.
To get the update to iTunes 10.6, do a fresh iTunes download. "In the iTunes 10.6 preferences under Store, you can select whether HD downloads come in 720p or 1080p resolution. In the iTunes Store, movies conveniently list the file size for the selected format," reads Ars Technica. What about Blu-ray, you ask? Wired's Epicenter has you covered: "in addition to storing movies purchased through iTunes in the cloud, Apple will also back up at least some digital copies of movies that come with purchases of a DVD or Blu-ray."
