There's a new Ed Davenport album due to arrive next week, called Counterchange. It's his debut album, and it sees the heavy house and techno producer evolving into music that's as experiential outside of the club as it is inside the club, a la when The Chemical Brothers took big beat and made it listenable like rock music ... something that you can listen to at home or on the go and still find some resonance.
“'Counterchange' is a further development of my vision of electronic music, that sits somewhere between the club and home listening. The title relates to the relationship and contrast between any two opposites. That could simply be harmony, light and shade, viewpoints or opinions. From my background studying as a graphic designer, the use of counterchange in a visual sense can be very effective,” said Ed about his direction on Counterchange. It has a release date of March 19 via the NRK Music label.
