Today is a good day with good news on the re-emergence of post -punk / alternative music band Redd Kross. They’ve announced a signing with Merge Records and will release a new album titled Researching The Blues on August 7th. Red Kross invaded LA in the 1980’s with a fresh and energetic sound based on punk music and post-punk sounds. They played alongside Black Flag and other bands as the LA punk scene grew into what was dubbed "alternative music" in the 1980’s. Still, the band is more excited about what they’re doing right now. “It [Researching the Blues] has the most singular artistic vision of any record we’ve done. It’s just 10 really fucking awesome songs that have the ability to move you in many different ways,” said Steven McDonald when talking about Researching the Blues.
