Sigur Ros have announced the Sigur Ros Valtari Hour, a rolling one-day webcast / live stream deal in which the band will broadcast a live stream every hour, on the hour. The Valtari hour happens on May 17, and will see the band preview their upcoming album Valtari for every time zone in the world. The Sigur Ros live stream is set for 7 PM in every time zone; if you go to their web site, it will clock your location and give you a countdown.

In the meantime, Valtari has a release date of May 28th, so this will be a timely event. There's already a Sigur Ros tour in the works with shows at the Osheaga Festival, Summer Sonic Festival, Rock En Seinne, Electric Picnic and Bestival, among others.

"I really can’t remember why we started this record, I no longer know what we were trying to do back then. I do know session after session went pear-shaped, we lost focus and almost gave up...did give up for a while. But then something happened and form started to emerge, and now i can honestly say that it’s the only Sigur Rós record I have listened to for pleasure in my own house after we’ve finished it." said Georg from Sigur Ros about the recording of Valtari.
