Merge Records will reissue the classic Sugar album Copper Blue, a reissue that includes the excellent Beaster EP that was released somewhat around the same time, as well as a live show recorded at Cabaret Metro in Chicago in 1992. This is all to celebrate the 20 year anniversary of the album, and the Copper Blue release date will be July 24th. "Recorded and mixed during the same intense sessions that produced COPPER BLUE, the BEASTER EP was originally released in April 1993. Notably darker in tone than the widescreen power-pop of COPPER BLUE, Beaster nevertheless boasts some of Mould's most powerful songwriting," reads the announcement from Bob Mould. It comes in either a 3 CD package or double album / single album format.
Mould played Copper Blue in full at this year's Noise Pop Music Festival, check out the performance video here.
