Ever since “Lazy Eye” enraptured the audiences of dream pop and indie rock fanatics alike, Silversun Pickups have continued to release a set of consistent singles to sate their listener’s inclination for memorable guitar melodies, and smooth vocals.

This is no exception to Silversun Pickup’s latest single, “Bloody Mary (Nerve Endings),” off their soon to be released album, Neck Of The Woods. The songs kicks off with euphoric synths cascading over an ominous drone like buzz as it pulsates to the abrasive bass drum. Suddenly, the sweet falsetto of Brian Aubert pervades the song as it begins to groove with the clean reverberated guitar melodies that soon stop as the aggressive chorus comes in. Suddenly the eerie vocals reminiscent of Smashing Pumpkins, Billy Corgan, croon “Bloody Mary,” but are juxtaposed with the soft and sultry timbres of Nikki Monninger.

Bloody Mary (Nerve Endings) is definitely an expansion to their already eclectic musical palette as they’re shedding their nostalgic teenage angst ridden music for a more dark, enigmatic, and mature sound. So if you have a strong penchant for hauntingly addictive guitar riffs set with an electronic fervor, make sure to give a listen to Bloody Mary (Nerve Endings).
