Electronic music virtuoso and rabid innovator Nathan Fake will bring the real deal in a new album titled Steam Days this Summer, the first new Nathan Fake album since Hard Islands in 2009. The album has a release date of Aug. 7 on Border Community. Nathan Fake most recently took part in the Radiohead TKOL remix party from last Summer, and you can hear a remix of that remix above.
"Inspired by his upbringing in the rural village of Necton in Norfolk, Steam Days represents "everything that's gone on in [his] head for the past two years." The album evidently has a wistful, nostalgic bent, including tracks referencing his hometown ("Neketona"), ancient Celtic tribes ("Iceni Strings"), and the ZX Spectrum gaming console ("World of Spectrum"), with "lingering drones and blending textures evocative of a longing for familiar territory," said Resident Advisor when describing Steam Days.
