Matt and Kim will release their new album Lightning on on Oct. 2 via FADER and it was "recorded by the Brooklyn duo in their Grand Street apartment and features ten outstanding tracks written in true Matt and Kim fashion." They have a few shows scheduled, the Catalpa Festival in New York and the Summer Set Music Festival in the rock and roll mecca of Somerset, WI.

GigaOm is saying that they're "adding a slate of new features including improved live streaming, DRM support and extra money-making services. All of these, it hopes, can make it a significant competitor to other professional video hosting services like Brightcove and Ooyala."

The judge from the Megaupload lawsuit is stepping down because of comments he made at a recent conference in which he called the U.S. government "the enemy". He said a paper he "delivered on copyright law at a recent internet conference could reflect on his impartiality and that the appropriate response is for him to step down from the case." this could be a break for Kim Dotcom, unless the new judge is less inclined to support his case.
