Spotify Mobile Radio has been released for Android devices, and allows Android phone and tablet users to create custom radio stations from any artist, album or Spotify playlist that exists in your library or in the Spotify catalog. It requires a Spotify Premium account, which of course their incentive for us to upgrade, still it's only $10 a month.
The Bassnectar tour has dropped word: "Hide yer kids, hide yer wife; we’ll be stampeding through the cities listed below with no brain left unmelted, dropping the upcoming ‘Freestyle Mixtape’, showcasing tons of new material, gallons of classic material, and as many re-invented versions & new combinations of your favorite sounds as we can squeeze together! Corin Tucker is gettin' the Corin Tucker Band back together for a west coast tour, plus she's also released the song "Neskowin" today. Their new album KILL MY BLUES arrives on September 18 via Kill Rock Stars.
Mountain Goats have announced their Fall tour today, in support of their upcoming album release of Transcendental Youth on October 2nd. The tour starts a week after that, with Matthew E. White as the opening act -- shows will be in both the US and Canada. Check out their song “Cry for Judas” from the new album.
Public Image Limited (PiL) have announced a tour for their This Is PiL album that starts in October with a stop in Orlando and winds up in November at the FunFunFun Fest in Austin Texas. The band is in the middle of European tour right now. The video below is taken from the This is PiL album, and shows the band playing live.
TorrentFreak has dropped word that Flava Works has filed a lawsuit against FileSonic and Oron for copyright infringement, saying "In a complaint filed at a federal court in Illinois, the cyberlockers are joined by 26 John Doe defendants who stand accused of sharing copyrighted material. These files were also allegedly shared on several other cyberlockers including FileServe, Hotfile and RapidShare." These lawsuits are highly unpredictable, judging the right and wrong vs. the legal and illegal can get murky, plus the mechanics of how and why they were stored all get in the way of a clear judgement. Still, these all determine how P2P, Bit Torrent and storage lockers are viewed in the eyes of the law.
