Check out the new Calexico video for the song “Splitter,” with the band ( Joey Burns and John Convertino) playing the song live in some sort of garage / warehouse. The alt-country indie rock band sounds as great as ever on one of the songs from their new album. You've got the rural scene and the bridge in the background, the cars parked out front, and the vibe is perfect. It's taken from their album Algiers, which is due out on Anti-Records on Sept. 11. Calexico worked with producer Craig Schumacher in New Orleans on the album, writing and recording in the city to soak up the vibe. "The place is strong and bold, soulful to the core, but surrounded by a sea of darkness. There's something creepy and old on the edge of town and written throughout the town's histories. Those kinds of aesthetics help with the writing," Joey Burns said.
