Dream Pop band The Luyas are set to release their latest album on Dead Oceans ... the album is titled Animator and the release date is Oct. 16. There's a dark influence on this album ... the band received word of a death during the recording sessions and it had an impact on the sound and shape of Animator. “Animator is supposed to be some weird resuscitation. The animator’s job is to create the semblance of movement in things that cannot move themselves. The musician’s is to make us feel like something is happening with a sound,” explains singer Jessie Stein. Check out the band's performance at the Pop Montreal Festival in 2010, shot by A Takeaway Show's Vincent Moon, with some editing help from A Story Told Well's Derrick Belcham.
UPDATE: check out the new song "Fifty Fifty," released today by the band.
