Tom Waits is mad as hell, and he's not going to take it anymore. Watch Tom Waits get OG in his new video for the song "Hell Broke Luce." It features Tom in a nicely detailed video, carrying his cross (a house) through a vision of Hell. It's a nice metaphor for the entire housing nightmare that the world has gone through ... Buy a house, and be chained to it in a symbolic trip through Hell. It's also a story of a soldier returning home from a battle, and this is more of the big story here, a soldier who went to battle and came home broken, feeling used by his country and a left with the real aftermath. "Now i'm home, and I'm blind, and I'm broke!" he yells as he finishes the song. Although the notes that accompany the release of this video suggest that it's inspiration was taken from an 'apocalyptic war dream,' it's hard not to see this a critique of Bush-era policies. "Hell Broke Luce" is from the Tom Waits album Bad As Me, released last year on Anti- Records last year. It was directed By Matt Mahurin.
