Word has hit the street about the 2012 iTunes Festival in London (+ Apple devices everywhere), and this year's event looks as good as ever. The iTunes Festival goes down September 1 -29 at the Roundhouse in London and it features more than 60 acts in total, including Bat for Lashes, Jack White, Band of Horses, Deadmau5, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Frightened Rabbit, Hot Chip and more. A LOT more. Check out the full iTunes Festival 2012 lineup and schedule.
The iTunes Festival in London will be a worldwide event, thanks to the iTunes Festival app, it features live streaming of performances as well as archived video after the festival is over. The official name for the app is iTunes Festival, and it's available for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. Sorry Android nation, this is one of the things that Apple uses to get people to buy Apple products, so there's no Android app. Apple has made it available in more countries than last year's app, so check for availability if you were denied last year. You get to watch all of the performances in full (for free), either live as they happen as a live stream, or as an archived video after the show. If you're in on AirPlay or Apple TV, you can also check out the shows via those capabilities as well.
Should you actually live near London or have the means to get there in September, tickets for the events are free, but you have to register at the web site fore the shows you'd like to attend, then winners are chosen. You can even try to get an iTunes festival pass for all of the events, should be so inclined. Go to the iTunes festival web site for more on tickets.
