Rdio goes meta with new deals from both TuneCore and CD Baby, which brings the Rdio catalog to over 18 million artists. TuneCore brings 250,000 artist and label account holders while CD Baby offers up 4 million tracks. Rdio is both an internet radio service as well as an a la carte streaming music service, meaning you can also pick and choose songs and albums to listen to, as well as create playlists. The Rdio music service is on of the four big streaming music services, and the name is a combination of the words radio and audio, pronounced r-dee-o.
"Our artists have consistently asked for Rdio to be added to our partner network, and we're confident this partnership will generate a great combination of exposure and revenue to support our independent musicians," said Brian Felsen, president of CD Baby.
You can get an Rdio Windows App, or go for the iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile 7, in-home devices like Sonos and Roku, and in the car via Pioneer AppRadio, plus there's a desktop app for both Windows and Apple. It's safe to say that if you dig Rdio, you can use it at your desk, on the go, or in the living room and around your home.
