Thrill Jockey Records, the Chicago home of experimental music, will release a new EP from the electronic noise punk wildman Dan Friel on Oct. 16 with Valedictorian/Exoskeleton. Maybe you remember Dan form his form life in the band Parts and Labor, where the noise flowed and innovation ran deep. He's also worked with revolutionaries like Tyondai Braxton, Glenn Branca, and Damo Suzuki; so he definitely gets around. Look for the song "Valedictorian" on the new EP, which you can listen to below. Thrill Jockey calls it "a burst of adrenaline, pure pop filtered through a layer of noise," I call it fantastic.
