| This has got to do with tomorrow's iPhone 5 release ... the timing is just too juicy. YouTube has redone it's seriously outmoded iPhone app for an upgrade, and it's worth getting. It looks and acts like YouTube as we experience it today, with YouTube playlists and subscriptions at your fingertips. It's a free app and is out today, the YouTube iPad app is supposed to arrive soon.
The iOS app also gives better access to YouTube channels; social features for Google+, Twitter and Facebook as well as your own account. If you're a YouTube die hard with your own account, you'll also find better aces to all of the things you've been finding through the browser. There's even a place for your purchased videos, which might be part of the rub here ... by making a stand alone app, Google can monetize the experience with ads and purchased content.
The best part is probably the YouTube Feed, it's the run of your latest videos that you've subscribed to via channels. It really looks and acts a lot like the Google+ app, with the linear feed stretching across the width of the app with big preview images. All in all, it's a smooth upgrade that brings the iOS YouTube experience up to date, I can't wait to see what they do with the iPad app, given all of the extra real estate on the screen.
