The shortlist for the 2012 Mercury Music Prize was announced today at The Hospital Club in London. In a ceremony hosted by Lauren Laverne, twelve artists were announced to compete for the £20,000 cash prize that will ultimately be revealed at the Roundhouse in London on Nov 1.
