Richie Hawtin has been a part of electronic music for a long time, and now he's giving back to the community by rolling out a new traveling daytime lecture series/live show tour thing with the hope that he and his peeps will offer inspiration for the next generation of DJ's and electronic music provocateurs. He's bringing Carl Craig, Seth Troxler, Kevin Saunderson (among others) along with him. Attend lectures during the day, party by night ... sounds just like college, but electronic music college. The whole thing promises to focus on technology for the whole platform ... they're calling it CNTRL: Beyond EDM - Electronic & Techno(logy) Based Music.

The lecture circuit/tour will start in Buffalo New York on Oct. 29 and hit cities like New York, Philly, DC, Montreal and some cities in the midwest. There's more on the tour than just those ... check out the full listing at www.CNTRL.com The press release says that they're "taking the history and the future of the platform to the very people who could well be the next generation of producers, DJs, technology innovators or simply advocates of the sound that is sweeping the continent after 20 years of trying."
