New music is on the way from Memory Tapes (a.k.a. Dayve Hawk), and he has a new preview of one of the songs today. The song is "Sheila" and it's from the album Grace/Confusion which is due out on Dec. 4th via Carpark Records. It's going to be 40 minutes of music over six songs. Memory Tapes is a hybrid of dream pop and electronic home recordings by Hawk, who also operates under the name Memory Cassette and Weird Tapes. He recently did a remix of the DIIV song "Follow."
“I've always explained Memory Tapes as pop music as field recordings. I decided to showcase a kind of chaotic reaching. I don't think the record is flat-out shooting in all directions though, because I kept trying to reign it in as much as I embraced it. That’s why I called it Grace/Confusion.” |
