New Warp Records band Darkstar has released a free download of the song "Timeaway." They used to be on the Hyperdub label, and they released a number of singles there before singing to Warp, now they have new single coming out on Nov. 12 with "Timeaway" and a b-side of "News #1-10." At times the melody almost sounds like its going to wander in into "Mr. Sandman, bring me dream ..." but it never does. Not that there are any parallels here, this song is a sort of warbly progression to it, and it's part of a new songwriting approach for the group. They're trying to move beyond grime and dubstep and into new territory, and it's safe to say that they've broken through that here.

“Every place warrants a story. No matter where it is, how quiet, remote or disconnected. There are moments in people’s everyday lives, no matter how subtle, that can be documented and talked about in great detail. The instances spiral and ascend and take on their own course, altering the perception of how even the slightest change in a day can be felt deeply,” said James Young about the new approach.
