Merge Records has announced plans to release a new live Dinosaur Jr album taken from their 1987 European tour. According to J Mascis, the tour was a good time for Dino Jr as an up and coming band, who were used to hittin' the van in the states and scrounging on tour.
“We were young on our first Euro tour. It was amazing to get hotels and food. We were treated a million times better than we were used to in the states. And only driving like 45 minutes a day to the next Dutch town. Good times,” he said.
See how that played out performance-wise on Nov. 19 when the label releases it as a vinyl-only offering to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Dinosaur Jr album You're Living All Over Me, the album that the band was touring for at the time. Check out the song "The Lung" above, it's from the live album which is titled Chocomel Daze. |
