Australian electronic/experimental band PVT are releasing a new album called Homospaiens on Oct. 22/23 via various labels depending on what part of the world you live in, they've also released a new song with "Nightfall." It uses found-sound samples and "throbbing vintage drum machines," so it sounds like we are off to a fast and interesting start. This time around, PVT seems to be catching a small dose off the current 80's new wave nostalgia with the synths, but this song is a tension builder, working up to a breaking point that never arrives. Instead it goes slow mellow and slow burn.
PVT always sounds interesting, catchy, fragmented, disjointed, and prone to tangents. That all adds up to a sound of diverse influences, while maintaining some kind of cohesiveness to the overall vehicle. The music curiously splits the divide between experimental, electronic, and indie rock leanings. |
