| Indie pop band The Ruby Suns are releasing a new album on Sub Pop Records next year, titled Christopher, that includes what Sub Pop is calling "high-fi, meta-disco, and headphonic roller-skating jams." Serious or ironic joke? You can decide while listening to the MP3 of the song "Kingfisher Call Me" via MP3 ... I guess there's a hint of what Sub Pop is talking about, but it really is more of an experimental indie pop kind of thing.
There is a renewed energy to the band's sound though, which might some from Ryan McPhun's long holiday from New Zealand, taken in Oslo, Norway. It gave him new life and energy which of course, found its way into the music. The release date for Christopher is Jan 29, 2013.
