The first big visuals from How to destroy angels_ with their “Keep It Together”
video. It's a full-on extension of the Nine Inch Nails dark aesthetic, but stripped bare and with a lot more dark corners in the studio, minimal and straight-up in it's approach. There's all sorts of NIN offshoots in the sound as well, plus gurgling synthesizers and new sounds and ideas. How to destroy angels_ involves Trent Reznor, Mariqueen Maandig and Atticus Ross.
Last month, How to destroy angels_ released the song “Keep It Together,” and then a Dave Sitek remix of the song. Sitek is of course a member of TV On the Radio and founder of his own recording label Federal Prism. He launches into a lively remix here, full of bleeps and a nice build-up that chops up the sound in the final seconds, building the tension nicely until it drops out to nothing at the end.
The How to destroy angels_ EP An omen_ will see a release date on Nov. 13 via Columbia Records, and a full length album due sometime next year. Also: check out the Trent Reznor remix of the Telepathe song "Destroyer" on Dave Sitek's label.
