The Bjork machine keeps moving on its Biophilia Tour, this time announcing a six-day residency in Paris, with four shows at Le Cirque En Chantier and two shows at Le Zenith. The second location will feature Bjork in the round, and apparently it's the first time this has happened at Le Zenith.
These tend to be all day, all night affairs for Bjork, with the daytime Biophilia Educational Program for kids, which includes music and science workshops. At night its the big show.
Björk kicked off the whole thing last year with a three-week residency at the Manchester International Festival, performing six shows dedicated to Biophilia, her first UK shows in over three years. After that, the Bjork Biophilia tour hit the road, playing major cities like New York and now Paris.
As for Biophilia, the ambitious album was the first album to be simultaneously released as apps: "The multimedia endeavour encompasses her music, installations and live shows, and celebrating the use of modern technology by utilizing the internet. The project aims to explore ideas like how sound works, the infinite expanse of the universe, from planetary systems to atomic structures," was how the Bjork web site described Biophilia at its release.
