After Massive Attack and Terry Callier worked together in 2009 on Hidden Conversations, it seems natural the Massive Attack would put out a tribute of some kind -- Terry Callier passed away earlier this year.

Robert Del Naja has put the Massive Attack mixtape out on Soundcloud, which you can listen to above. It has a slow-chill vibe to it, bringing Callier's jazz influence and hooking it up to the deep, dark downtempo brooding that is everything great about Massive Attack. Somber start to the week, but a good one.

"Me and Euan reloaded the Terry Callier tapes from 2005.
It felt right to honour the short time we had with him in Bristol. We created a 'mix tape' of the pieces I worked on with Neil and Terry. I also took the liberty of stripping them back to a more personal space and cut in alternative vocal takes and out takes in an attempt to share a little of the spirit of the great man," said the band in an announcement on the Massive Attack Facebook page.

this isn't the first Massive Attack mixtape that has been done, last year they did and #OccupyLondon mix, which happend almost exactly a year ago. Previous to that, they also had Massive Attack - “3D & Vermona Demo” and the Massive Attack vs. Burial - "Four Walls" Remix.
